In a recent post about the shake hand grip and author wrote “the backhand-oriented grip is the one that the edge of the blade leans more to the index finger while the forehand-oriented grip is the one that the edge of the blade leans more to the thumb.” When I work with a robot I find myself switching my grip back and forth on the fly between those two positions. In play I believe I favor the backhand grip and don’t switch. My question, do advanced players switch on the fly or do they stick with one grip? I realize that one’s grip is a personal thing, but does there seem to be a preference of one over the other. How about a neutral grip, in between the two extremes? Thanks |

I believe I tend to favour a more fh grip during a match until I conciously adjust it back... ie if it gets too fh oriented and affects play.
