BW3 has the 90-001 top sheet and a purple sponge:
Guo Yue used BW3 on her FH in the 2009 Asian Cup: |

Good to see these companies coming out with new stuff that hopefully doesn't need to be re-tuned every other week.
But I don't like the purple sponge. Black sponge and Blue sponge and Tenergy Red sponge are cool, but purple is a terrible color. (But its only a sponge, so not a big deal.) |

Most expensive, actually not, because there is another purple sponge version, US$120, with one of famous female national team member name...but, who will spend $120 to buy a rubber? BTW, I do agree that $72 is not so realistic, I don't think anyone will be interested to spend that high price to get one. The price is so high because this BW3 is not commercial, it's made for the trial of national team, no packing, very limited supply. |

You're right, female team use the purple sponge BW3, male team use the black sponge BW2. Does it means the purple sponge is softer than the black sponge? |

Are you sure thats BWIII? I heard that it's national team rubber made just for Guo Yue or Zhang Yining i forgot which. 72 dollars is not expensive btw...these rubbers are been hyped up to 600 RMB on chinese websites like tao bao because they are rare.

zwu168, turns out they aren't using BW3 at all, they are using 729-08 national which comes in a purple sponge in the 46 degree version. Just thought I'd update this to finalise it. Alot of the girls team are using this rubber but it comes in different colour sponge for the different hardness's
