This is one weird necro thread...random people popping up from all over the world to try to get an old used one of these blades desperately, must be one heck of a classic blade.

Well I had played with a Moonbeam FL for 2 years with Sriver FX 2.0mm on both sides.

It's about 14 years from that time now:

PROS:
-- Extremely controlled offensive (not + but also not -) blade. I was able to drop the ball to an exact location I wanted to. I never played with an offensive blade with such control.

-- Light blade.

-- Good looking (handsome blade)

CONS:

-- Very little sensation, very little ball feeling.

-- Not aggressive enough. You feel like playing with an allround+ blade (slightly more aggressive than primorac all+ or mazunov (I am an old fart ain't I ?), with much less feeling )

-- I was bored of it after playing 2 years. This blade turned me into a styless eclectic idiot.

CONCLUSION:

If you wanted an offensive blade with control, I wonder why would you be after such a feelingless blade ?

If you liked control: Primorac ALL+ was better.
If you wanted to attack: Gergely was a better alternative.

This was why butterfly gave up the production of MB quickly in my hublest opinion.

In a month or so I might have Moonbeam for sale or trade. I am going to test it first, play with it for a couple of weeks (it is already 10 years old, original Japanese production, none of that late years Canada-manufactured gear, a bit banged up with some dings and small pieces of outer layers missing along the edges but doesn't affect the play at all).

A couple of people already asked me about it, so I promised they would be the first in queue but we'll see what is offered.

I only spent 10-15 minutes with it and I already liked it. The handle is FL and it is 1-2 mm shorter than a regular FL handle, weight is about 95 g but with lighter springier rubbers it plays beautifully...

More later...
