Sriver is said to be a rubber that suits all types of play from defense to attack depending on the thickness of the rubber of course |

a lot of 729 rubbers seem to suit all types of play. it seems that chinese rubbers are good for chopping due to their tackiness, and they can also be used for looping/smashing |

I've noticed, and i've only tried a couple, that they are a lot slower than the average japanese rubber and they have a lot more control. They are very versatile but lack consistency |

I havent used it for years but if its still the same as it was and I had a choice between that and Sriver L I'd choose Vario, I found it produced more spin, perhaps a slightly softer sponge but as fast as L, good looping rubber in 2mm and above, and great allround rubber in 1.5 or 1.8 |

I agree that there are a few topsheet on the market that can suit just about every style of play (Sriver and Mark V series to name just a couple), but I don't think the sponge used suits every style or ability ideally.
