In chinese forums, there are a lot of discussions that I benefit from, but here.... Is it because you guys don't care much about short game? And rallies are not for discussion but for praticing? Seems like looping are very natual to Eurpean style player. Why? I never knew. |

for better discussions, try dttw.
http://www.tabletennis.gr/forum/default.asp good forum, usually better content that mytt.net, however there is only a fraction of the users there and people dont post as often as they do on this forum. I too find it sad the lack of good short game discussion. |

what do u meant by lame???looping is not lame its essential so are short game(short) n rallies; service block n whatnot chinese forum topics is circulating around chinese players n so on only... here we appreciate worldwide t.t.ers. if u r not coming out with ur so called intereting threads, just get lost and stick to ur chinese forum. jc, imho u think u r too smart for this forum. y dont u create more threads in dennis's, so it be active again... i thing u belong there... this is not d first time i here this from u.... i have never seen any good threads started by u here before(maybe i m new)anyway. |

lets keep the negatitity to a minimum, JC in my opinion can suggest ideas of dttw, I ve only heard it twice, once for adive and once for opinion, other than that, I dont think that JC would purposly try to harm of offend anyone in this forum. And to JC, i myself personally find a lot of equipment threads uninterseting sometimes so to me, mytt.net is better, its all a matter of taste, I like general and coaching tips sections the best and DTTW lacks that so i dont go there much. Just my opinions |

I also get a little bored with equipment threads unless they are about equipment i use, or plan to use.
"jc, imho u think u r too smart for this forum." not 100% correct. There are users on this forum that are * Much smarter then me * Much better players than me * Much better people than me. however, there are also idiots, there is with every internet forum. Anyway, i know its not good to blow your own horn and all that stuff, but i do think im above all the threads that are about "what equip does XYZ use" i must have the same equip as him, becouse i play that style, and all that rubbish. I dont start threads unless i really think i have something important i want to talk about. in both this forum and dttw, i have typed out lots of new thread starting posts, then closed the window after thinking about it a little more. Maybe others should also do that. I much prefer to join in discussions. |

thanks patman, my english is lame too, lol, but if I got a question I will definitely ask here.
btw, how do you train your footwork? I feel like at my level, the major thing that will pervent me from improving is my footwork, it's so slow. |

It depends what you're poor at. One thing you could do to improve your footwork for the short game is to have one player serve, then the receiver either does a long, fast push or a short push. Then the other person does a long push or short push, and you keep doing this until someone does a long push. If someone pushes long, you have to loop it, then you can play the point out. For footwork in a rally, do lots of random topspin drills, where one person loops to the blockers backhand, and the blocker blocks anywhere. You should be able to keep rallies going a long time if you are a decent rallier. Try to have each person hit the ball at least 5 times each rally. If you get really good at this, and you hit at least 10 balls every time, have the blocker start moving you more or blocking faster. |

I believe a lot of the topics are lame. He's right in some point. I see a lot of "Best glue, Best rubber, Best blade..." topics. Some are just silly...a poll like this "Chen Qi is gay?"...
I feel that quite some people left this forum because of that. It was a pretty good forum back in the summer. I enjoyed it a lot. I hope some more knowledgable people can join this community. |

you know another really bad topic that also has no point, the topic" why are discussion here so lame?" I think thats the worst most pointless topic, maybe there are some bad threads in this forum, then why dont you go make your won good threads. You can just igneor the unintresting ones like I do and just make good topics and read good topics, there is no perfect forum and no one on this planet is perfect, just lvie with it. If there are some pretty lame topics by ur opinion , just skip them and pretend its not even there, I garnetee u that will work perfectly. |

i know a lot of people here dislike me...and guess what your gonna dislike me more. but i agree with the topic...everytime i open up the forums.. theres about 50 new topics made by alink about all sorts of garbage no1 could give a sh*t about... theres a bunch of people who constantly argue about the equipment used by the pros etc theres always some kid with less life experience than a toddler trying to tell people how to live and whats right and whats wrong your mostly kids and your mostly young, i know a lot of people are younger than me (me being 19) and your all like trying to teach people a lesson and trying to be all serious and politically correct, just f**king relax you spastics and try to enjoy life. especially all the americans who get super dooper agro when something someone says has rubs on a negative part of them or something that effects them |

In my spare time I've been cleaning and reorganizing out some of the older sub forum material (you'd be surprised at how many players in 2005 asked "What Equipment is Ma Long using" and "What is the best way to preserve new rubber"; of course in those days they asked it in the Coaching Forum, or the Video Forum, etc)... That's the part I'm busy fixing.
But every once in a while, I stumble across an oldie worth resurrecting. This Gem of a Topic Seven Years Later While MyTT maintains it's strong position as a leading Equipment Discussion Forum, -I think the quality of discussions and breadth of topics has improved noticeably. -I think spelling and grammar have improved as well. -I also suspect that the average age of posters (or just the maturity?) has risen. |
