Hi All,

I tried Tibhar K3 recently (both FH and BH) and was taken aback - it really did play like a boosted hurricane. Now it's been a couple of weeks and it's nowhere near what it was at the beginning - the topsheet is still ok but the sponge now plays like a completely different rubber (in a bad way) - no clicking sound, no speed, no arc and not very safe.

Are there any other good hybrid alternatives that last longer than this?

Hi,

Probably need to be more specific with couple of weeks, and how much you play, but the reality is you are describing the current progression of all ESN rubbers( someone correct me if I am wrong and there are some exceptions).

The way I see it you have 3 options:
1) D09c
2) Chinese rubber that you boost the living spirit out of it with the correct booster. Maybe an H3 37?
3) Try to reboost your own K3 with falco or something else suggested around and see how that feels. Mentioning falco here cause its supposed to be the booster for EU type sponges but might be entirely wrong.

If you like boosted hurricane, why don't you just use hurricane?

I have the same experience with K3. The best rubber I played with, but it is just too expensive to replace it every few weeksif you are not sponsored. And the drop in performance after few weeks it’s probably the most drastic I have experienced ever.

Thibar is always the same poor rubber duration.

I think it has the same speed and bounciness, but J3 grips the ball more and is tackier.

Can any native speaker explain what the reviewer here is saying?

He basically said that he used to use Dignics 09c and his image of Chinese rubbers is that they don't bounce much. But he was surprised by Jupiter 3, because it loops easier and better than D09c. He said he never missed a loop against cutman using Jupiter 3. It bounces a lot more than he thought, has very good control, and is easy to hit with, even with his penhold backhand. Basically the rubber far exceeded his expectation.

He said the rubber generally requires you to hit active strokes, and you can't be overly dependent on using your opponent's pace.

He said the ball lands deep on the opponent's table. He said even if the ball drops lower than the table, the rubber can easily grip the ball and lift it over the table.

Thankyou, I have ordered a sheet in H39, lets see how it goes and if it requires boosting.
