It doesn't stay upright because its centre of mass is not in the exact middle - this could be due to the rubber/tape used (as I can tell from the video) or inconsistent wood material.

Is the bottom of the handle completely flat? Some blades have rounded bottoms... That would explain a lot. I wouldn't worry too much about this if I were you.

If you bought a TT blade you don't have to worry about, but if it's a flower pot then I would go back to the shop and ask for a full refund.
