Thank you to Vince, Jerry, Jinlong, John Peng and all the others, who sacrifice the possibility to participate themselves in order to arrange an excellent tournament for us others to enjoy. All-in-all a great venue: excellent lighting; no drafts; good tables, nets and balls; sturdy floors providing good footing; good contrast; relatively little disturbing foot traffic, etc. Very good organization. The level of the players was very good, including at the very top. If you haven't yet, you should consider participating in next year's Seattle tournament !!

I had the opportunity to play Eric in the U.S. Open. He is a very good player and a nice guy. |

Sorry about your lost, but it's not easy to play against a person in wheelchair, as you may not used to the restriction imposed, and end up giving an easy ball. |

Are you talking about the Open singles or about when you and I played?

Or we could give Goa Hao credit for great play. I'll admit I didn't have high hopes for Hao mainly because he has no worthy practice partners. If he was still fresh from China, then I would have called it an even match. However, he showed great poise today and a lot of maturity in managing the match (and he had no coach, either). If I knew how to reach his parents, I'd tell them they should be proud.
Let's see... Hao beats Jinxin, but Jinxin beat Crisan. Crisan has beaten Timo Boll numerous times and Timo has beat (at one time or another) all of the top Chinese pros (Ma Long, Zhang Jike, etc.). Therefore, Hao is the best player in the world.

He plays a very controlled style game by nature, would be interesting to see video of him going too aggressive. Edited by cmetsbeltran15 - 08/24/2015 at 1:09am |

12 hours to till the matches start. We will be live streaming on both days starting at 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday https://www.youtube.com/embed/-Lsag4NVU6I? autoplay=1&modestbranding=1" When it comes online Open Doubles matches will be going on. Matches will be going on all day. The plan is to play the finals of all events on table one if possible. I believe if you make it to a final your match should be on the main table no matter the level. Sunday 9-5 will be quarter finals of men singles starting at 10:00am https://www.youtube.com/embed/gCFI4jfqqtA?autoplay=1&modestbranding=1" Also can be viewed at http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Table-Tennis/Events/2015/August/22/2015-Seattle-Open on the USATT website. Live Streaming will also be at Butterflyonline.com also. If I have time between my matches and overseeing the running of the tournament I will try let everyone know in advance of a event final.

Looks like it's going to be a good turnout. We have at least 5 players coming from Spokane. Not as many as we hoped...but more than usual from us inlanders! See ya Saturday!

Yeah, looks like I will be out of luck but that's fine. I WANT to play many matches and the field looks very strong - there are many dangerous (and underrated) 1800-2050 players in the mix. I'll be more than happy if I leave Seattle with the same rating that I have now. Yes, I'll be bringing my family, but I have no idea what time we will be arriving at yet...
