Can you explain me the main difference between H3 Blue sponge Neo Version and H3 Blue Sponge purple red cardboard version?
Apparently, the only difference is made up by the thin glue layer coat on neo. Do they share the the same sponge? |

SOME INSIDER NEWS ON THE FACTORY POST-TREATMENT ON SPONGE.
In response to the recent instructive letter by ITTF of February 2021, Chinese manufacturers all, with only few dissenting voices, have agreed to invariably withhold the use of boosting materials in any forms e.g. factory bathing the cured-vulcanized sponge into mineral oil. Hence, players all shall apply the liquid oily compounds (=boosters) on their own risk, effective since September 2021 onwards. Get ready, please. Edited by igorponger - 06/13/2021 at 10:29am |

The difference is of course the factory boosting only present in the neo version. Non-neo will be harder to get good performance out of it if you are not knowledgeable in boosters.

Friendly Reminder
to all table tennis passionaries. China National team did dropped using factory boosted rubbers for playing internationally, ever since April this year. It was a natural precaution by Chinese players so as to avoid getting positive results at the NIR testings for boosters. The NIR tester was pre-announced for all Olympic teams in March 2021. We pleased to note a very good tendency in the sport, China table tennis Olympians now accepted the Fair Play ideals, unwillingly maybe. |

I can't confirm that they will drop boosting, but H3 blue sponge is still pretty awesome without boosting. Just by the sound of CNT players hits, those H3 blues don't sound very different to an unboosted one, or just a H3 blue Neo one you can buy from a better source.
