In my opinion, nothing replaces a good coach when the player has yet to develop the correct technique.
There are a huge number of veteran players which hit the ball wrong because they learn the wrong way.

Unfortunately, it is hard to find a coach who can correctly advise you on equipment, and be patient enough to correct the stroking errors that many players have due to them never learning the correct ones at an earlier point in their life. I have seen paid coaches who ignore a player's equipment that is way above their skill level, and do little to correct bad habits. I also lay some blame on the many stroking errors that the improper use of robots cause. Unfortunately, too many beginner players are basically ignored at many of the clubs that I have played at. The better players don't want to take the time to help them because they are too busy working on their games with the better players there. I understand that. Many of these beginner players simply drop out and don't come back. I get that as well.
