Just another bit of info for the tournament. We will be live (no live commentary) steaming on both days. The plan is that the finals of all of the events will be on the table with the camera. From open singles down to the lowest rated event. So if your coming from out of town and you make the finals you can let your friends back home when your match is and they can watch it live.

Just watch last year tournament.  What event is the 1st match in this video and what US rating are these 2 players?  I just want to understand the level of competition for this Tournament and US Rating in general.

The first match on the day one video was a open singles RR match. Both players usatt rated 1950-2050. They are from the same club and have played each other many times. The first two matches on day two video were the semifinals of the 2400 singles. The third match on day 2 was open singles semifinals. The guy in the black shirt is rated 2700+ The other player is just under 2600. As for Fatt's set up I don't know what he will be using but rest assured what ever it is will cause him to randomly utter words in French during the match and you have no idea if he's yelling at himself or trying to put hex on his opponent! Lol

The bionic juniors from Portland area aren't a problem. Now the Canadian junior player who hasn't played in a usatt tournament in a year or two, that has nightmare written all over it.

if you're going to need a hotel to stay at I highly suggest you take advantage of the deal we arranged with the Days Inn. Information is on the entry form on how to get the discount. All the other hotels/motels in the area are charging nearly double the price we worked out with the Days Inn

I was just informed today by the manager from the Days Inn that they will only hold the room block till July 31st. So if anyone was planning on staying there for the tournament and want the 10% discount make your reservation before July 31st.

Just a reminder. For people coming to the Seattle Open Aug 22-23 if you want to take advantage of the 10% discount at the Days Inn (425-643-6644 book directly with them, give them code SPTTC) you need to make your reservations by July 31st.

Just a reminder. Today is last day to make reservations at the Days Inn and receive the 10% discount. Also if this happens to be a persons first USATT sanctioned tournament and your not really sure you want to buy the required USATT membership the SPTTC club will cover the 10.00 one time tournament pass it you enter 3 or more events or we will apply the 10 towards you buying a membership if you decide to buy a membership. And lastly when you enter ( via mail or on omnipong.com) remember to choose your shirt size for the free tournament T-Shirt.

They're waiting for you Portlanders to enter. They didn't want to scare off the competition from down south. Lol. The coaches from up here still have to sign up so that will add a couple more 2500 plus players.

I think you will be out of luck on top eight wish. Lol. Two of the coaches from the club still have to enter and if some of the names I'm herring actually do enter it should be a good field. Are you driving over solo or bringing the family with you? We will be at the gym setting up starting about 1pm on Friday.

Yeah, looks like I will be out of luck LOL but that's fine. I WANT to play many matches and the field looks very strong - there are many dangerous (and underrated) 1800-2050 players in the mix. I'll be more than happy if I leave Seattle with the same rating that I have now. Yes, I'll be bringing my family, but I have no idea what time we will be arriving at yet...

We will be live streaming on both days starting at 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday https://www.youtube.com/embed/-Lsag4NVU6I? autoplay=1&modestbranding=1" When it comes online Open Doubles matches will be going on. Matches will be going on all day. The plan is to play the finals of all events on table one if possible. I believe if you make it to a final your match should be on the main table no matter the level. Sunday 9-5 will be quarter finals of men singles starting at 10:00am https://www.youtube.com/embed/gCFI4jfqqtA?autoplay=1&modestbranding=1"   Also can be viewed at http://www.teamusa.org/USA-Table-Tennis/Events/2015/August/22/2015-Seattle-Open on the USATT website. Live Streaming will also be at Butterflyonline.com also. If I have time between my matches and overseeing the running of the tournament I will try let everyone know in advance of a event final.

He plays a very controlled style game by nature, would be interesting to see video of him going too aggressive.

Or we could give Goa Hao credit for great play.  I'll admit I didn't have high hopes for Hao mainly because he has no worthy practice partners.  If he was still fresh from China, then I would have called it an even match.  However, he showed great poise today and a lot of maturity in managing the match (and he had no coach, either).  If I knew how to reach his parents, I'd tell them they should be proud.

Let's see... Hao beats Jinxin, but Jinxin beat Crisan.  Crisan has beaten Timo Boll numerous times and Timo has beat (at one time or another) all of the top Chinese pros (Ma Long, Zhang Jike, etc.).  Therefore, Hao is the best player in the world.  LOL

Sorry about your lost, but it's not easy to play against a person in wheelchair, as you may not used to the restriction imposed, and end up giving an easy ball.

Thank you to Vince, Jerry, Jinlong, John Peng and all the others, who sacrifice the possibility to participate themselves in order to arrange an excellent tournament for us others to enjoy. All-in-all a great venue: excellent lighting; no drafts; good tables, nets and balls; sturdy floors providing good footing; good contrast; relatively little disturbing foot traffic, etc. Very good organization. The level of the players was very good, including at the very top. If you haven't yet, you should consider participating in next year's Seattle tournament !!
