Poor first match for Harimoto/Hayata. Same problem with Harimoto insisting on finishing with his BH and Hayata self-destructing on her serve in the 2 games they dropped.

Keeping an eye on Uda/Kihara and Tazoe/Miwa Harimoto(replacing the retired Miyu Maeda).

It was my first time pairing with Shibata-san(Saki Shibata/Miki House), and I think we were able to play better than expected in a short period of time and with little practice. I had a chance to play with Tomokazu Harimoto(Kinoshita Group)/Hina Hayata(Nippon Life), but I think there was a difference in the pairing experience and individual capabilities.

Until now, I had teamed up with Kihara (Miyuu/JOC Elite Academy, Hoshigaki), but after a long hiatus, I played the mixed doubles again and realized that there is a way of fighting unique to it that is different from the men's doubles. I want to make use of it in the next opportunity.

Harimoto/Hayata haven't won in straight games so far. Two 5-gamers already.

5:0 in the 5th all won by Hayata. Speak of the devil. Harimoto dropped the next 2 points. 6:3, TO for Harimoto/Hayata. Dropped 4 points after 8:5, 3 of which on Harimoto's BH. 8:9, 9:9, 9:10, 12:10, last 3 all determined by FH.

Yet another close match for Harimoto/Hayata(almost blowing the lead in G3 and G4), whereas Uda/Kihara and Tazoe/Miwa Harimoto breezed through.

Very bumpy road for the reigning WTTC XD silver medalists and Harimoto still insists on finishing the point with BH.

I would say he is lifting more weights, bulking up. There have been complaints for a while that his forehand lacked power, perhaps he is trying to fix that.

Kato: How to beat Ishikawa? Hire her former coach.

https://hochi.news/articles/20220128-OHT1T51162.html?page=1

Hayata: Taking advantage of reflection on losing to Hashimoto, I've been practicing so as not to consume my stamina. I think the regimen of eating and resting throughout the day is also good.

Quote It might be a good idea for Ishida and Hayata to look into stamina management.

Quote Taking 2 games again. As stated before, Hayata needs to work on her stamina management. She fluctuates too much in a match, pushing too hard early on.

Quote Hayata is completely off in the afternoon session. Can tell from her heavy footwork. FH suffers so much. Just like how she lost to FTW at WTT Star Contender Doha. Stamina problem, that she also acknowledges in a recent interview?
