Getting the small amount of old glue of the sponge is the only hassle. Its a bit messy. I used some of my EE11 which I wasn't going to use anymore. Leave it on for a few minutes then roll the glue off. It might take a few goes to get rid of all the glue. I also used a bit of kitchen towel as well.
At  least that way I can use up the remainder of my EE11.

Let me tell you what happened to me - I had a regular rubber glued before with regular glues 2-3 times. Then i decided to use CTE on it - oh what a mess. I had to scrub everything off the sponge for half-an-hour, including the already laid down layer of CTE, and only then when the sponge looked basically clean, I was able to put 6 layers of CTE on it without any problems.

So, yes, if you rubber has residues of old glue on it, do not use CTE before you get rid of the old gunk.

Sounds very messy. I can imagine the mess. Its the only draw back with this type of application.

Basically the solution is to only use CTE and CTF consistently - and if you glue some rubbers with regular glue keep on doing it or clean them up. Takes a bit of memorizing to remember which rubbers were done using what but  then you usually can tell by looking at them...

No, its not.

Its best in max.

mark v is a lot harder than sriver-el, and even notably harder than sriver-l. Also its sponge doesn't react well to glue.. you need a lot of glue to get a decent effect.

They are similar, with sriver feeling more elastic, with a more grippy, but less tough topsheet, and mark v with a harder sponge.

That's why many have switched to Mark V 30 which is supposed to be much softer

The top sheet of Sriver EL is harder->better service return close to the net.
The performance of Sriver EL is consistent even after many months.
Unglued Mark V is faster than unglued Sriver EL.

True all... that's why I was thinking about trying EL or even Tackifire Special on BH and Mark V on FH (at some point in the distant future)

I was using Mark V 30* "max" for a short while and found it to be hard to control and a little inconsistent.  (Of course,  it was probably just me.)  I think that the 30* is probably best in 2.0 thickness to keep some stability in the rubber.
